Do you think the sale of ANACS and CU stock hitting a 52 week low are related?

I personally sold my block before the decline over another reason ( left a small token amount unsold). I came back after a week of being at sea and saw the tumble and news. Could this be related?
I seldom check PM's but do check emails often jason@seated.org

if one held the stock over the last 5 years you have done ok
when you also consider the annual dividend.
it appears the rate of increase has simply softened/flattened/declined a bit.
according to their reports, some quarters they took a loss which
might have scared a few people.
<< <i>No question about it. This is obviously a market reaction to the sale of ANACS. Soon, IBM, Microsoft, and Boeing will also crash.

Russ...your "tongue is in your cheek" so often, there must be a permanent indentation there
If you want a good laugh, go to the yahoo message boards on CLCT, "she who will not be named" has apparently run amok of late on there. Check out the Yahoo link...

Apparently 'she who won't be named' was on the Teletrade board as well which is not too smart as she competes with them. Hello, SEC

Not the Kool-Aid drinkers that have no clue what EBITA means.
Hey fc....you said

................WHAT....!!!!
Take a look at their 3 year and tell me if you still think this....?????

Hey Joe,
One thought comes to mind......
buggy whips
yea, the 3 year would definitely be an ugly time to own the stock
when considering appreciation.
the dividend would be the only saving grace.
but i tend to think of stock purchases as long term, never the quick
buy and sell type plays.

Joe is right.
Normally when two competitors are in trouble, it means good news for the market leader. With ICG and Anacs in disarray, it would seem that PCGS ought to prosper. I'd hold or buy rather than sell.

Nope, maybe I will if I have the time.
I learned about business at a major business school and 30+ years at very large corporations. I didn't learn from movies.
I'll stand by my comments.

All that left is for the crack out masters to continue the trend of resubmitting something enough times until it gets the grade they are looking for. (Amazing how many more MS66 and MS67’s Morgan Dollars are in PCGS Holders now compared to 5 years ago, maybe the mint is still making those also)

Cool.....So Do I.
tdn, discussed this a bit ago.
basically if you have an old school 65.. and you compare it with todays
65s... the graders now have to bump it to 66-67.
they are comparing what is coming in today from old holders to todays
standards and thus they can no longer grade that PQ 65 as a 65.
it gets a bump and lo and behold, the pops for 66-67 start to creep up.
tdn buys on the high end of things and his opinion on this is pretty
darn solid. that is why many of his coins, basically all of them, have
upgraded over the years.
ah grade inflation. keen way to keep business brisk!
(but i bet you already knew this. lets say i said it for the people
new to here then ;0) )

Actually 3 competitors: PCI, ICG, and ANACS. PCI bit the dust and is being liquidated. ICG and ANACS are in disarray.

The biggest reason for that is that the market started heating up around five years ago. Pops for many coins have skyrocketed duing the same period. Saints are another example. Both are popular and part of the registry, so it makes sense that in an upward trending market submissions would increase.
In other words, it isn't some sinister plot between the crackout guys and the TPG's.

PCI hasn't been a PCGS competitor for a number of years. They cater to a different market segment.

Whew.....
I can hear at least 350 Kool Aid drinkers sighing with relief, now happy with the thought that they will sleep good tonight.
All the old 65s are now 66/67s
The old 67s are now 68s
The old 68 are now 69s
the old 70s are...............?
Are we talking 100 point scale here?
I guess inflation impacts everything in life.
