99% of the time the best tipoff that a "VAM 29A" is actually a VAM 35A is high grade. A VAM 29A in even AU is very rare and I've never heard of a Mint State example existing. VAM 35A, on the other hand, almost never seems to show up except in Mint State.

Hello...Just so you know, it appears as if this coin is a 35-A, not the rare 29-A...The 35-A is a die crack, not break...And, the break is in a different location...It is a very honest mistake, as they look very similar...Regards, Len

FWIW, VAM-35A has been eliminated, per Leroy. In a letter to me, he said he eliminated several, including that one, and rolled them all into the VAM-14A. I don't agree with doing it because there are, per die cracks, certainly different obverse dies among them. However, VAMs are not strictly about strict die pairings but characteristic die pairings.
