How much do the TV hucksters influence 20th Century "classic" coin prices?

I'm thinking about 20th century obsolete design coins like the PCGS/NGC slabbed Walker "short set" (1941-46) coins, 1940's MS 65-66 Winged Liberty Dimes, MS63-65 Franklins, 1941-1958 Lincolns, etc.

I now see three coin sellers on TV at one time trying to sell a bunch of silver eagles, modern proof sets, etc. I think they were selling walkers in the past. If they go to the above series in the future, will it drive up demand and remove the coins from the collectors' marketplace? Or, is there just too much of this stuff to matter?

And, where do they buy their coins, and do they pay market or better and pay promptly?

I think there is too much of this around for the TV sales to effect supply/demand.

I have to feel that potential collectors are turned off after they find they have been ripped off. Just MHO.

I don't think they'll influence them much at all unless they actually start to promote Classic series. I don't watch the shows, but my understanding is they hype modern Mint stuff primarily. I don't think that will EVER translate to much interest in Classic series. I feel like vplit . . . they'll kill a lot more interest than they will start.

If they ever DID try to promote the Classic coin types, where would they get enough of them anyway??? Imagine trying to hype the Classic Commems . .

This subject is usually good for at least a dozen rants!

I just this proves the members of this board are getting up in years. I know it is almost my bedtime too.

They do classic coin types and Classic Commems in their Vault Finds Segement. They can get all they need from Teletrade as well as the electronic dealer network.

They buy a lot of coins. Most come from jobbers and wholesale deals. Large quantities
of a lot of different coin types are involved. They pay extremely strong prices and usually
pay shipping as well. Almost all the big wholesalers do a lot of business with them but
there are other places these coins go as well. There are growing numbers of nontraditional
    sellers.

A lot of older coins are involved but most of these are either low grade or typical for the
grade. There are some slabbed coins involved but not a lot.
