Long term Ebay sales and costs

I have been watching a dollar on the Bay for over 6 months now. Each time the seller sets the BIN for 30 days and, for the same amount of money, just leaves it there. I have offered what I thought was a fair amount for this coin and it was declined so I just decided to see when/if it sells.
But, as I said it has not sold for over 6 months. My question is how long can this seller put this coin out there an still make money? Aren't the ebay fees sucking him dry?

I think they don't care what the true value of the item is. They are stubborn and hope they will get their 'inflated' price tag. Good luck to them.

Kinda like fishing and playing the bait.
What's interesting is that it seems to anger a lot of people to have an item listed over guide value. Of course, my response is always, "well if you can find one for that buy it!"
Re: later post recommending boosting of the price, I have seen that approach succeed time and time again. Have yet to try that myself. It's kind of like my golf swing - I know much of what I do that is wrong but I seem to keep doing it anyway!
And I too have seen coins sell after the price was raised...I think that *they* think, wow, I really missed on a bargain "I had better pick this up now before it goes any higher"
But in the end I dont need this one, I just thought I might like to own it for a while. Oh well, the search goes on..
