Love getting a "neutral" meant for someone else...

Just noticed the reason my ebay rating was changing was because a buyer left a neutral for "item not available but did refund money"....
I couldn't figure it out since I did have the item, and did ship it.
Then I refreshed my memory even more....
Item won on 12/12
Item paid for on Saturday 12/15
Item shipped on Monday 12/17 (I have printout and receipt to prove it)
Feedback LEFT on 12/14 !!!!!
I guess I should feel lucky that in his carelessness I didn't get a negative by accident, but even the neutral sucks, imho!
.....not happy at the moment....

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Unless of course, they were arrested for selling fake slabs or stolen coins, then ebay will elevate it to a neg for you , and give them a gold star for teamwork !!!
<< <i>I'm sorry, that does suck. Have you notified him/her yet? >>
Yes, just before posting the thread.
I even waited for a bit after noticing it so I could investigate and then cool down. That's when I noticed that it was likely for a transaction he had for NGC MS70 SAE on 12/14.
Not like he can do much with it now....just sucks. I haven't left feedback yet...I want to hear from him.

<< <i>I did learn this dealing with Ebay on feedback, they WILL remove a feedback meant for someone else, just have the person who left it contact them.

Hmmm...I will see if he is up to that....was there a specific part of ebay you contacted for this?

I have unmolested FB, 6 years, over 1000, know it' gonna end sometime. Kinda sad really.
You wouldn't believe how long it took to get him to sit still for this.
I think it was an honest mistake and hope he just owns up to that.

Did you neg him?

Should have negged him for his cavalier attitude toward your feedback rating.

Speaking strictly personally, I don't agree. To me it says volumes about the integrity of an eBayer who doesn't resort to obvious retaliation and tit-for-tat use of feedback as a weapon.

I bungled up a response for one ebay seller intended for another and when I asked ebay to change it or erase it, they said they wouldn't do it. I did apologize to the seller and then left a follow up response/feedback noting my own error and noting the ebay seller an excellent one. The point is Ebay said they wouldn't change a post that I f%&ed up.
First of all i'd like to appoligize for the mistake. I had intended to provide that feedback to another seller. I had tried to purchase that coin from another seller and the seller advised me that he had misplaced/couldn't find the coin. If there is a way in which the neutral feedback can be removed from e-bay and replaced with the positive feedback that was warrented for our transaction, I would be more than happy to accomidate the steps that would be needed.
Tried the ebay "live chat"....worthless people
All they are good at are canned responses and links.
I looked up the feedback withdrawal link and because it was an honest mistake, not a negative, not pornographic or slanderous, etc, it looks like it will stay.
Now, if I were a dirtbag seller, selling tons of crappy products and ripping people off, I bet ebay would remove the feedback
Ebay users....please be careful when leaving feedback....too many people are careless (and, no, I am not going to neg the buyer...but I know I am not happy with this, even though it is a minor, in the scheme of life, mistake)

I had the exact same experience with Ebay's "live chat"...it was worthless. Turns out the seller gave me a positive feedback, and he never emailed back to me...he/she just let it go. Stuff happens, as you suggest. What a pro!

<< <i>Sorry Ziggy but you are way off base. >>
I was NOT way off base because I made it clear I was speaking for myself personally, and that's how I feel. You may think it's silly that I consider it "retaliatory" or tit-for-tat feedback, but I do. That is a personal opinion, not a statement of fact or how everyone else should see it.
At least you still have 100% feedback.
I received my only negative back in the "Old" days (1998) when feedback did not have to be transaction related. Anyone could leave feedback for another at any time. Kinda like the "Ole West"
Of course the one that left me negative feedback left in a blaze of red negs in 2000 . He lasted about 1-1/4 years.
Nice follow-up feedback.
Joe
edited for spelling, of course
Whew, I feel better now. Sorry 'bout the rant...carry on.
Ask me no questions, I'll tell you no lies.
Hope you get a little relief in terms of a reply to feedback. You can always leave a response yourself and quote the seller.
It won't bother anyone since you still have 100% positive.

Based on his response, he doesn't deserve a neg as I stated in a previous post. As long as he makes an honest effort to correct his mistake, positive feedback is appropriate.

He went through the feedback withdrawal and ebay will be removing feedback.
