Well, I didn't find it my wife did and when it hit the counter she knew from the sound that is was something special. The cashier offered to take it back because it was ugly and nobody would want it...except my wife. Thanks for the compliment Tightbudget. Most of these are found in Mint bags and not at your local QwikieMart.

But it is interesting and in accordance with the OPs request for interesting finds this year.

I recieved a 1964 d silver quarter in change at a car wash last month. It might even be a D/D variety... As well as a civil war token dated 1863 graded AU/UNC thought to be a penny that I acquired from a garage sale.

I found many world coins but this month I found a 1927 nickel.
It's been years since I found a Buffalo in my change.

These were all the ones I found in December along with the Buff.

I also found a 1927 cent a a 1958 silver dime from Canada.
