The reason I ask this is I was looking at my PCGS and NGC 2006th 20th Anniversary Burnished die Ms 70 coins and both have little deep dings in the coin. The PCGS coin has 2 little dings they are noticable under 10x loupe in the skirt above the 2006 date.
The NGC coin has one ding on the arm reaching towards 10:00pm and is noticed under 10x loupe. Now again I don't know if the coin had a hole in the plancet before it was struck, but is there really a perfect coin?

one of those 30X microscopes with the twin eyepieces . Yikes! what
looked like a flawless unc to the naked eye or 5X , showed a surface
that looked like moon craters with small specks of green .
The same way he grades any other coin.
The MS69/70 line is tough for sure, but, no different than the MS67RD/MS68RD line for Lincolns or the AU58 / MS63 line for a classic coin or the MS66 / MS67 line for a Wash quarter, etc, etc, etc,

That's like asking "How many chickens does it take to change a light bulb?" Answer: Chickens don't change light bulbs.
