The Olde 2007/2008 Coin Rap...

Just a few days away from the new year and I think of various forum members and what they might be doing.

But, that's

The beauty of the internet:
the information flower:
that daily refresh from everyone
on this hobby's magical power.

It's a new year,
and my coins are getting lonely.
They want fresh blood,
maybe a king by the name of Louie.

I want a German,
a rooster on a peaco(c)k.
In this case the chicken is real,
however the peaco(c)k is not. Hah! I knew I could get past that darn word censor!

In the year 1902
I'd like Edward as he appeared
on a commemoration medal,
with a very spade-shaped beard.

Maybe her highness
on one of her 1000 denoms,
quite a lusty lass,
a numismatic phenom.

Maybe a Churchill,
but one not quite so ugly.
Or perhaps President Clinton
not smiling quite so smugly.

But wait, she/he
is not yet on a coin.
So this numismatic Rap
I will now sternly enjoin

to end...

my friends..

Happy New Year!

Add your verses,
add your curses,
tell us of your woes.
Tell us of your successes,
coins you passed
and coins you chose.image
