Second Christmas.......

Will be going to Dallas tonight to visit family. While i am there my In-laws have told me we will be going to their family safe deposit box to look at some coins. I asked my wife if she knew what is hiding in there she and she tells me that here great grandmother had a stack of old gold......I think i will be in heaven.....but the coins are not in any kinda of protection.....so i need a good coin shop in Garland, Richardson area that i can get some airtites for the coins... any suggestions.......

Go to Lone Star Mint in downtown Plano on 15th Street.

Take 75 to the 15th St exit. Go East on 15th, and it is after the first light, on the left. They are doing construction, so be aware - it's the first driveway after the light.

Nice people.

Be sure and go to Jorg's while you are there. They are right down the street, and fantastic. Be sure and get the pretzel bread.

okay here is what we found. Unfortunately there were no $3 gold but who can complain about these....

1910 $20 Saint in xf
1910-d $10 Indian xf
1881 $5 au
1882$5 xf
1909 $5 xf
1910 $2 1/2 xf
1912 $2 1/2 au

1913 British Sovereign gold AU

and several low grade silver and some modern coins.....

Now the rest of the story. Talking to my father in law who had taken the time to put the coins in a paper flip....and i they look much better since he cleaned them......WHATTT.....so i very calmly asked "what did you clean them with"....He says BRASSO......I almost fell over right there....guess i need to take a closer look at those grades.....any way that is the update.
