Enlarging crappy ebay pictures

Is there a way to magnify certain spots on a picture? For Example I want to look for an overdate but the pics are pretty crap, is there a way to enlarge that area without totally pixelating the whole thing?

  • No, If it is a low resolution picture it will pixelate as you enlarge it every time.

You would need to get a hold of a higher resolution picture.

Enlarging crap will produce larger crap - an image is no better than the original quality.

(But, check your browser settings to be sure you are not allowing the browser to feed you compressed images.)

I sometimes right click the pic and then select "properties". If it is hosted on the seller's personal site, you can go to the site and access the original pic. Sometimes....not often, this pic is larger than Ebay might allow and you get a nicer scan.

How often have I been able to do this? Maybe twice. If that fails, just email the seller and request a larger pic. If they can't provide one, just move on. Why should you pay full price for a coin to be a mind reader?
