and the 1857 seated quarter can be found (very rare) with it's reverse clashed with the reverse of the FE cent.

    Trick question??

It was the dies that clashed, something that happened every year.

The cross denominational die clashed are as noted by cmerlo1.
"My friends who see my collection sometimes ask what something costs. I tell them and they are in awe at my stupidity." (Baccaruda, 12/03).I find it hard to believe that he (Trump) rushed to some hotel to meet girls of loose morals, although ours are undoubtedly the best in the world. (Putin 1/17) Gone but not forgotten. IGWT, Speedy, Bear, BigE, HokieFore, John Burns, Russ, TahoeDale, Dahlonega, Astrorat, Stewart Blay, Oldhoopster, Broadstruck, Ricko, Big Moose.
  • Here is some scanes of my friends coin.
The clash mark is on the eagles left wing in frount of the right wing.
There is what I would call a cud on America.
Is this one of the cross denominational die clashes?

    Hi Papabear,

The area over AMERICA on the FE cent you posted looks like a cud, but in this case it is actually a clash.

Since the previous posters have listed most of them, I might as well list all 6 known inter-denominational die clashes:

    (1) 1857 FE cent obverse clashed with half
    (2) 1857 FE cent reverse clashed with quarter
    (3) 1857 FE cent obverse clashed with $20 gold
    (4) 1864 Large Motto 2c piece reverse clashed with Indian cent
    (5) 1857 quarter reverse clashed with FE cent (the opposite of clash #2)
    (6) 1870 Shield nickel obverse clashed with Indian cent

I think I have listed them in rarity order with the least rare being #1 and the rarest being #6.
