Hey Mullet- when did you get the 390?

my 1st 'ride' in life= 1967 SS396 Chevy Camaro- oh it was a rocket and probably the best car i had- NEW.

moons later- a 1968 Mustang 390 police interceptor motor aka California Special- another fine hot rod for its time.

I should kept both- todays value = more than a 93-S morgie in 63!

OK- Jason- you have been judged.

I've had the 390 for 3 years or so.

What's "a 1968 Mustang 390 police interceptor motor aka California Special"???? police interceptor motors were 428's and only 12 428 California Specials were ever made and they were Cobrajets and not police interceptors.

Direwolf 1972, nice car. You're a wise man to keep the Matching # motor no matter what condition, also preserve the emission,

    air pump and so on.

I don't care what anyone has!! My grandfather told me over 30 years ago, no one in this world will give you anything for free. Hence only plenty of free advice, and that advice is to make some sort of profit off of the one who listens to that advice, but doesn't use the advice to better them in some way. (Did you understand that?)

    I own 2 trucks a 1997 Ford explorer 4x4 automatic may I add, a 2003 Dodge Ram 4x4 Hemi.

My wife drives and owns a 2006 Chevy Exquinox. Lastly my daughter of 22 years drives a 2006 BMW 323 and works as a ultrasound tech and stills goes to school. As I see my daughters car is being cool and expensive, it is just not me. Maybe that is why I haven't worked since I was 38 years old and don't have no bills, everything is paid for. Even my grave site and all the whistles to boot. Now it is time to educate my son, my daughter didn't listen, maybe my son will?

Ones success and toys are ones choice. I guess I never wanted the stress, but have stress of having a F-ed Back. Good Luck to all with their choices and successes.

Lastly not to many people know I collect coins so I have a reflection of myself if that counts. I am comfortable and my trucks drive just as good as any high priced toy out there.

The more people spend on a new depreciating asset every 3-4 years, the less money they have for coins. I understand that for certain types of professionals, a pricey new car can be good for business. I can't see that coin dealer would be one of them.

Fortunately for the Porsche owner she's learned that those nasty windshield notes were to be taken seriously. Since then she's learned to park in other peoples' parkiing spaces or rent a spare one for a nominal fee. Come to think of it, she had more to lose since neither of my cars individually are worth more than hers.

Yes, but then the people who work for the car company and the stockholders of the car company have that money to spend on coins image

<< <i>Ridiculous... to judge a person by their car tells more about the individual making the judgement than the person driving the car. I suppose these would be the same people who buy wine according to the attractiveness of the label or the name on the bottle. Ridiculous. Cheers, RickO >>

Well said. Over the years, some of the wealthiest people I have known were often the ones driving the least pretentious automobiles, and the biggest posers I have known were typically the ones with the most expensive cars. >>

Yeah! Didn't Sam Wal(mart) drive an old 1960's truck and fly a Cessna 172 from store to store?

<< <i>To some, a car is just a method of transportation. Most want one that is dependable and gets decent fuel milage so it is affordable to operate. Other people are very passionate about cars and collect them just as those here collect coins. You shouldn't judge someone by the brand of car that they drive either. You can buy a used BMW and repair and maintain it yourself and it would cost less to own than a new pickup truck. >>

Being one passionate about cars and coins I can tell you there are some very similar aspects between the two. Both have been on good bull market runs and in both the timing on purchase is a big deal. It was mentioned earlier that cars are a depreciating asset but like coins in a way that is only for certain cars and certain condition. I am sitting on paper gains in cars bigger than my coin collection.

Since many consider cars as rolling art. And coins as being art of commerce. Doesn't that make, in some eyes, cars=coins?

I love the lines and look but it would be so frustrating, driving a car like that in grid-lock every day. image
