Are fees going up in January?

I noticed that my latest submission form says "not valid after 12/31/07". Are fees going up?

    Yes and no.

Grading fees are not, but variety attribution and review are. So is reholdering.
    When in doubt, don't.

Where can this info be found?

    Crap,

I was going to send all of my flag and satin finish coins in to be re-holdered with regular inserts. I hate the cheap look of the others.

I received a copy of the Dec. 11 letter sent to dealers announcing the new fees; I'm not aware if it is posted yet on the website.

Variety attribution (VAMs, etc.) is going from $15 up to $20
Variety review (PLs, DMPLs, etc.) is going from $10 up to $20
Reholders are going from $5 up to $10
    When in doubt, don't.

Isn't that designation review? Man, that sucks. It's a service I use extensively.

    Russ:

Yes it is. The term "Designation review" doesn't even appear on the services and fees list now.
    When in doubt, don't.

The new fees take effect January 14 according to the letter.
    When in doubt, don't.

How Timely...Just after we get all those new variety sets. And to think I was hoping those coins already holdered by PCGS AND attributed by them but not with the new FS#'s would be done for free..What the heck was I thinking??????

Reholders are going from $5 up to $10

Dang... 2x the price. So much for having my collection reholdered once it's done.

OK, lets see, I have a Satin Finish 2005 MS 69 Cent that will not load into the new variety set because it has the wrong number. So I need to send it back to PCGS OR Just buy another for $30 delivered on the Bay.

    Are my amounts correct?

    $10 for reholder
    $5 handling fee
    $15.50 shipping

    $30.50 total Correct?

$10 for a reholder? Wow! I suppose I should send in all my scuffy slabs this week. Of course, then they'd come out with a positive slab makeover midyear that would make me regret that decision.
  • Sheeeeshh, seems like it gets more expensive every year.

Hi Russ, I see you have been around for a longtime on here, I also see you collect Kennedy Halves. May I ask why? What should I look for when collecting Kennedy's? I love the K. proofs, but it seems in the early 60's and 70's the strikes on this coin was not all that hot. So ole grandfather of the boards and the Kennedy genius, let me know your strengths.image

If it has the wrong number, PCGS should fix it. Have you asked BJ about it?
