Tickets for Giants-Pats game offered for big money

Two tickets to the game, plus tolls, parking, food and beverages? $175.

The opportunity to sell those tickets to a Patriots fan eager to watch history in the making? More pricey than priceless, particularly online.

With Saturday's game against New England relatively meaningless to the home team, New York fans holding tickets are selling them to football fans who want to be at Giants Stadium to see the Patriots try to close out a perfect regular season.

In the first 24 hours after the Giants beat the Bills on Sunday to wrap up their playoff spot, more than 200 ticket holders put their seats to the home finale up for bid on eBay. By Monday, about another 3,000 tickets were being made available on StubHub — some priced at as much as $1,600 apiece.

Buyers have been willing to meet that price, Joellen Ferrer, a StubHub spokeswoman, told The Star-Ledger in Newark, N.J. One optimistic capitalist listed an asking price of $210,000 for a pair of tickets.

"It looks like it's on pace to be one of our top 25 events of all time. It's definitely one of our hot sellers," Ferrer said. "Although it's meaningless to the Giants, it's still going to be a great game to watch."

As of Wednesday morning, there were more than 600 offers of Giants-Patriots tickets for sale on eBay.

NFL channel, if you don't want to get it for just one game you might try calling friends or local bars to see if they have it.
  • NFL just folded faster then superman on laundry day. The game will be simulcast on NBC and CBS. Pressure finally got to them.
