i seen a post here somewhere about how start was reproducing its own cards. in that post someone said they were easy to spot. could anyone let me in on that? please.. i would post the cards i have,i have a set of jim rice and jose conseco. my luck they will be fakes. oh yeah they are stickers. don

donrus - there are two separate things. Some of the expensive Star basketball cards have been counterfeited. The counterfeits aren't very good, and are fairly easily spotted if you have a real one to compare them to (there are websites showing the difference in pictures, and Tuff Stuff had an article years ago with pictures of several real and fake combos). There was also illegal reprinting done by the owner of Star several years later of a few of his basketball sets (and it appears he created some brand new sets at that time as well and backdated their copyrights). Many people feel the illegal reprints cannot be accurately distinguished from the originals, although there are some experts who say otherwise, but this issue is only limited to certain basketball sets - and you can find out which ones from articles and comments on the internet discussing the situation.
Star baseball cards all appear to be fine.
