1917 Matte Proof Lincoln? Do they exsist?

I have read they do, and I have read they don't. my question is do they? If so who has one, what price do they trade at, and how many are there known and provable?

This is a question I would like to hear about. I wanted to ask this before, but always got distracted.

ebay has a 1917 for sale. look at the fields near the edge on the obv. and by the wheat ears on the rev. am i crazy or up to late tonite? looks like matte-like surfaces? is it real after all?

An AU 1917 with die erosion that has likely been dipped. I would say that you have boatloads of enthusiasm.

i am hoping. if i ever find one i will post pics of it. my dad has been collecting for 45+ years and he thinks they exsist. I do believe they are out there, but maybe to much negative publicity. Maybe one day I will find one. if they are real, id rather have that than any of the other keys to the series.
