    Indian 1/4 and 1/2 Eagles.
  • Yea i dont care for those either, i do like pulling the wide rim out of circ. though. got a few hundered now.
  • MOST people drop their jaw when I say it...but early type stuff does not interest me one bit...that may change, but right now I have Z-E-R-O excitement with most of those coins!

Honestly, I used to think the same way about these coins. After seeing a bunch in shows and in the coin dealer's dispalys, I've kind of grown fond of them. I've even started an Indian Half Eagle set in AU (I'm five coins into it) and there's no turning back. The incuse design makes the coin quite interesting. I also think of the coin being the gold counterpart of the buffalo nickel- a real part of Americana. After viewing a bunch of them in hand, I'm finally getting a better grasp on grading them.

I've never really liked Morgan dollars and Lincoln cents too much. I think that I've always never liked the most popular series much. The series are too big and there are just too many enthusiasts out there. I've always liked the series that few people collect and that few people know much about.

I know that it is blasphemy, but I don't like or collect any silver dollars or anything currently available from the mint.

None really, but if I had to choose it would possibly be Ikes. He was a great general and a lousy president. The coin is unattractive. It made absoultely no sense. Morgan and Peace dollars at least propped up western mining interests. Clad Ikes had zero circulation potential and nearly zero intrinsic value. What a complete waste of time.

Edited to add>> They may have had limited utility for casinos but I don't know. Never was a gambling guy.

They were useful in casinos where they circulated greatly image

My vote: 3 cent nickels, followed closely by SBA, and then IKE dollars.

  • Gotta agree with Dave- 3 cent nickels. Love trimes, though.

Small Eagle Draped Bust Quarters - I don't like them because I cannot afford even a type example!
