here's the (holey) coin I want to press :)

this would have been a spectacularly cool holed example for my 7070, if not for the unnatural growth on the temple image

Original thread

looking from the edge view, there is a perceptable protrusion from the reverse punch, I assume it can be mitigated somewhat. still have yet to decide what do to.
thanks for the ideas, Im prolly going to go with notwilight's directions if I go forward with the squeeze

if I do ill post 'afters'

I think you want to tap that down with a peice of metal the size of the bulge using a hammer.

that was my first inclination, but I think the metal is so soft Id guarantee an imprint at the edge of whatever I was tamping.

Ill get a soft block of metal (my brother probably will have something around) he rebuilds motorcycles and press down on some wood.....
    maybe...

I agree with Jim. If you were a jewler you might be able to do something with it, but if you are not a metal expert you will make it worse. Sell it and get one you like.

I agree, I would not mess with it. Right on the hair like that, you are most likely to make it into a very ugly flat spot. With a posibility of bending the coin in the process.

It does not look too bad as it is but my guess is that if you mess with that spot the patina will change and it will look bad.
