Will the Browns keep Brady Quinn?

Although he has faded from sight due to the rise of Derek Anderson I think they will still need him as a backup. Anderson is in for a big
raise after this season.

Could be a San Diego situation again? They had Brees, draft Rivers and then let Brees go in free agency. Will the Browns keep Anderson or will they be willing to pay two big salaries for now?

Anderson is proven, Quinn is not.

That said, Anderson will probably get a contract equal or greater than Quinn's. Matt Schaub commanded 2 2nd round picks. Anderson played better than Schaub (before and after the trade) including good games against good teams. He could easily be traded for a first and a third rounder. Quinn would probably command a first.

San Fran, Vikes, Bears, Carolina definitely need QBs. Miami, Atlanta, Jets, and possibly the Lions could arguably use some help too. Other teams with established guys may want to groom. Quinn or Anderson could be moved easily.

I'd keep Anderson myself, unless the bidding spirals out of control. I'd imagine he is at least a transitional player, arguably should be franchised.

  • Anderson has had a nice year, but I wouldn't necessarily call him 'proven'. Keep both players, why not? You've already paid Quinn his big signing bonus, it would be silly to let him go at this point, and Anderson has played well this year.
