IHC Found in Change

My 17 year old daughter works as a cashier in a discount store. Tonight she IM's my wife that she found an 1876 penny with a picture of an Indian on it. I quickly replied that she indeed should exchange for a new one from her pocket and bring it home. I'll update later and let you know what shape it's in. Somebody's been dipping in someone's collection.

Some here were talking of putting some of their culls back into circulation.
Maybe one has reached you already. image

Look at a map of MD, then look at the piece that sticks out in the Atlantic. That's where I am, about 30 miles from the beach, and 2 miles from water in any direction. Not sure anybody would travel here to get rid of culls. image But I'll let you know after I see it.

In hand it's a weak G, most would call it a full G, but it's not a cull. Of course my daughter thinks it's neat and wouldn't give it to me. A new YN is born?
Yes the candy lopes here are good. The problem with living here is traveling the country and not being able to order "MD" crab cakes cause you know that any locals cooking is better than anything you find in a non-MD restaurant. Actually, my own are the best I've hadimage

That shouldn't be a problem at all. If you could get them anywhere, then you'd lose your local cuisine. Every area should have something special to go eat when you're there.
  • I Also got a 1904 IHC in change at The Super Market a few months ago. I Usually give them to Children and Most of The Kids get Quite excited about Them. I've been giving away low grade and Culls to Kids for nearly 40 years now and It makes me feel good to see the enjoyment in the Kids Eyes when they Get Them. Ray in Florida..

I agree. If I had a few heavily worn IHCs or early Wheaties, I might do something like that. I wouldn't do it with an 1876, though.
