Not really hypothetical with the FUN auctions and show coming up.
For those of you that never go into debt, tell us about the woulda-coulda-shoulda coins you've missed.

<< <i>No-brainer here. Sell the stuff I no longer consider an important part of my collection. >>
Lots of variables to consider...How rare is the coin I want to buy? How confident am I that I'll be able to pay off the credit card quickly? How secure is my job?
But the short answer is that I'd sell some of my collection or use a credit card...either way it would have to be a really special coin!

Do you have all NIGHT????? I'm usually the SECOND highest bidder on 10 per auction...

Collect stuff that's not so readily available.
Maybe someone might just happen to slip on a well placed banana peel, or someones brakes just happen to fail.......
I just happen to know a "guy" that can help with such things.

CCU - That's good advice but not failsafe. Remember the Ford sales?

Good advice. I would write a ton of near money call options on mortgage backed stocks. Like a few banks and investment firms that seem to be in trouble, but for some reason the stocks have not moved much.
I have $9,000 of max bid at Heritage. I placed the bids and hope to be outbid on some.
In theory, I have been overwhelmed by the number of coins that I thought I would win at auction, but in practice, despite aggressive bidding, your scenario has never materialized for me. For example, do you really think that you are going to end up winning this?
BUT, if it is, I have some choices that need to be made.

Considering that you bid on 200 coins per auction that sounds low. Pay up, Pal.
