1828 Bust Half, Square "2", O-109?

I could use a little help with this 1828 Half..... I've been all over the pictures on the Heritage Auction Archives for the 1828 Square "2", and I think I've narrowed this one down to an O-109.

Square "2", Large "8", re-engraved large "8" over a small "8", and the "I" in PLURIBUS is directly under the "T" in STATES. Am I right??

Also, any grade opinions on this one would be great!!

Thanks,

Rick

Great pictures of a great coin....

...clearly a coin from the O-109 die marriage..

The O-109 has a recutting within the loops of the 8's with a smaller 8 showing inside the loops of the first 8.

The O-109 and the O-108 were both struck with Obverse Die 5.

The O-109 can be separated from the O-108 by looking beneath stripe 4 on the shield. On the O-109 there is a curved line directly beneath stripe 4 below the shield. It looks like a curved extension of the middle line of stripe 4.

The coin you have shown us is a Late Die State of this die marriage. Notice the die crack encircling the reverse at the outer edges of the legend.

This means that this coin is the 1828 O-109a, R3.

In the posting above, seemyauction has posted a link to other Bust Half threads. Refer to these threads for more pictures of O-109a's, O-109's, O-108's and ALL the other Bust Half die states.
