How do you cancel a bid on E-Bay

I placed a bid on e-bay, but I read the description too fast. I thought it said 1988 but it's really a 1998 big difference on the price. Contacted the seller and he said he would cancel my bid. Only problem he does not know how and neither do I. Is there a link somebody could direct me to to cancel the bid I could e-mail the seller.

Any help is appreciated.

You should be able to retract the bid and indicate you were mistaken about the item, but it would be preferable if the seller cancels it for you. That way you don't have to eat the retraction on your record for six months.
