First post...looking for 1966 Topps

Hello everyone. First post here. I am trying to complete my 1966 topps baseball set and I am about 40 cards short. All high numbers of course. I was wondering if anyone here has any cards from this year they are selling. I am looking for mostly high grade cards.

  • Great!!! Thanks..I will send you the list of numbers i need now. I only am collecting raw cards. Thanks again.
  • PM sent
  • I am going to a local weekend only flea market tomorrow. One booth there is all cards and he has a lot of NRMT commons for cheap. Send me a list and I will see what I can find.
  • thanks..I will send you a list. How do you view the PM's
  • How about posting the list of cards that you need here. That way, everyone can get a look vs. having to send e-mails / PMs on an individual basis.

I'd be happy to look to see if I have any.

I wouldn't waste my time with this guy...he posted that he needed some high numbers and I responded saying I might have some.

I got back to him and said I had a couple, but would have to dig them out and scan them the next morning. I did as I said, and sent him nice scans of #555 Perranoski and #556 Queen both that were Near Mint and very tough cards. I guess he didn't like the prices, because he didn't even have the decency to say no thanks, the cards suck, your prices are too high or whatever.

  • How is this.. No Thanks...trying to charge $25.00 for a Mel Queen. I picked it up on Ebay NRMT slightly off Centered for $15.00 so in answer to your question...I guess I would want to pay a FAIR price Item number: 110206620922

    Merry Christmas to all,
I don't know much in this world but I don't think there are many that know more than me about the 1966 set. i have built that set twice in my life and on my third attempt have now passed the 80% mark in psa 9 or 10. i have 57 10's from that set. not bragging just sharing my background on it.

I could tell you 2/3 of the players card numbers without thinking hard.

Some of those high numbers like the hoerner rookie, perranoski and grant jackson rookie are just plain hard to find in any condition. i sold each of mine in a psa 5-6 range for over $50 each.

mel queen is another difficult card.

i have a lot of your needs whitesoxmike, but the world of raw cards can get ugly. what you consider in one condition i may consider in another and there seems to always be raw collectors who think that since the card is not graded they should get it on the cheap.

i guess my question before we go any futher is why don't you want graded cards? they remove a lot of doubt about the condition, authenticity and qualifer status.

    Thanks

Mike...despite what the auction said, you bought a EX/Mint card for $15.83 + $2.50 shipping or $18.33. A NM Queen will go for $25 all day long. Here are the pics from the one you bought. I looked at the super size scans of the auction and the card has FOUR touched corners, the front centering is too bad for NM, and the back centering is 95/5...not NM.

The card you bought is ex-mt at best if the spot on his left arm isn't paper loss and the scratches are on the scanner, not the card. I didn't see the card Jeff offered you, but $25 is cheap for near mint.

I also don't know the seller, but if he sends cards to psa and that card was NRMT (centering is 29/71 within guidelines for a psa 7) why didn't he send it in? He seems to know what he's doing, he has great feedback and nice cards.
