Anyone want any coins they refuse to buy?

I'd kind of like to pick up one of the "arrest mintmark" liberty dollars but I don't want for one second to contribute a nickel to the legal defense fund. I do have one liberty dollar that I bought for the sole purpose of believing that it would one day be some sort of banned coin or something.

This is kind of a cool evolution to the original Liberty Dollar but again......I don't desire to help.

In a related item I really like the Chinese Panda coins and would like to collect the series but have a real problem thinking I'm sending money, lots of it, to the Chinese government.

Edited to add the link.

  • I love Pandas, have quite a few in fact.

I welcome our new Chinese overlords.

I'd like to have a 1916 Standing Liberty quarter, but will not buy one. You can find them VERY easily, and personal feeling is that they are too common to merit the premium. Obviously, there are plenty of people who do feel they are worth it, b/c they have a strong market. I'm just not one of them.

I am not too inclined to buy anthing that says First Strike. Do not really care for the First Day Issues but do have some of them.

1889-CC DMPL. Yes, they are rare, but not THAT rare. The prices are still not within reality, actually for the date in general that is the case, but the DMPL is what I want and will not buy currently.

Interesting question! I guess I'm having trouble paying the $50 for the 1996 silver american eagle. I want the set completed, but still think it's stupid they go for as much as they do...

Two of them went for around $40 each last night on the Bay, same seller. One a little under, the other a bit over.

I know the seller and he has rolls of them, they're all raw, but they are the real deal.

He's been moving 4-6 a month on the Bay, just dribbling them out slowly. Last night must have been due to Xmas shoppers, etc as these went for quite a bit less than the others. He's been getting around $65 per on average. I almost threw in a snipe on them, but thought better as I've got a small batch of them as it is.

i agree on the filled die varieties, but how about the polished die variety (die pair #2)?

  • id like it but not for the prices.

im real fimiliar with the die #2, but would rather put that cash into matte proofs or capped bust half dimes.
i dont want to sound like im knocking it, thats not my intention. i just dont really want one.
