Struck in USA?

Was the coin linked below struck in Philly. I thought Pesos struck in 1914 were, but not sure. Thanks in advance for your help.

Krause says the coin was struck in San Salvador and European mints, not Philly.

  • Thanks Dork. I'm using Foreign Coins Struck at United States Mints, by Altz & Barton, printed in 1965. They have this one wrong or I'm miss reading it. Just ordered the Krause reference from Amazon. image

I have a copy of "Domestic and Foreign Coins Manufactured by Mints of the United States" published by the Bureau of the Mint in 1981. Page 113 lists El Salvador pesos, 25 centavos, 10 centavos, an 5 centavos all struck by Philadelphia in calendar year 1914. The peso was .900 silver, 25 grams, and the mintage was 2,100,020.

Looking at my Krause, it says in 1914 the KM 115.1 was struck in Brussels, then remelted to make minor coinage, so it is priced much higher. The 115.2 was struck in Philly. The only difference listed by Krause between the two is that 115.2 has a heavier portrait with a "wider right shoulder". Not my area, so I don't know which variety this coin fits.
