Exactley. At least the guy has actual gold and melt value.
Well with coins like those, it is probably better to send them to ANACS first, then if they are authentic, they'll get slabbed anyway.
Then if one comes over as not being altered or cleaned, you can resubmit it to PCGS.

PCGS doesn't authenticate coins, they grade them. If they authenticated coins these would have at least come back in a slab with a "Genuine" label.
