I can not see how this set available still from the mint at 1954.90 is BID up to 2099.00 and beyond as well as the ever-present Buy It Nows...

Not everyone has money laundering techniques that enable them to have 20 different credit cards with 20 different addresses/names
I think anything under $2100 is not smart to sell it out, due to fees.
You have to remember, if you were around watching at the time, that when the 20th Annv SAE sets came out, limit 10, they were still available from the mint but also selling for $150+ on ebay (I sold 3 sets for $160 each on ebay within weeks of them coming out).
People who paid that $150 or so were the ones laughing when the sets hit $300-$400+ opened....
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
<< <i>May be crazy buying any,(myself included) but if people want more than one or several and do not have other sources, why not pay alittle extra >>
Betcha they lift the order limits at least a little bit before sellout.

<< <i>People are paying a premium on eBay to increase the odds of getting a perfect set or sets, obviously the more sets you send in the better your chance. Also, not everyone knows you can order straight from the Mint, though I would think that would be the minority for the platinum issues. Why would the Mint will lift the one-per-household limit? The set is selling exactly as they and I had expected with more than half of the maximum mintage having been sold in the first week. I still believe the set will be a sellout before the end of the year, even if it fails to sellout by the end of the year I don't see why they would need to change the order limits which would allow more speculators to order the sets which is exactly what they wanted to avoid. Once the sets start shipping a sellout should follow. >>
they can adjust the limit it after 7 days at their discretion...which i doubt they will
thanks FLB
first platinum buy, i think will be wise...

<< <i>The fact that these are taking so long to sell out leads me to question how hot they will be in the aftermarket. I know the ASE set took a bit of time, but there were lots more of them and they were 1/20th the price. >>
I think the PCGS First Strike® PR70's will do very well in the aftermarket regardless. The amount of time it takes for the set to sellout will mostly affect the PR69 values.
granted i would like my plat. set to grade 70 first strike. i would not go out and buy a first strike. i am not trying to take away or diminish anyones sets but this is my opinion.
i think as a whole we are to focused on whats the holder, even for the new stuff.
30,000 sets, outta how many coin collectors? i think a wise buy in any grade it gets. aslong as its above a 69...

If you are going to spend that much money on a coin and don't understand the process or that you can buy direct from the mint, then they deserve to pay more!
