CANADA 50 Cent question 1950 (no lines)

When Krause says "no lines" for the 1950 50c (KM# 45) what do they mean? "No Lines" where? Sorry for asking if this is a very obvious question. Thanks.

This is from Haxby & Willey's Coins of Canada:
"1950 no lines in 0: In 1950, the 50-cent dies were derived from a single, fully dated matrix in which the 0 of the date had 4 horizontal lines in its centre. Depending upon the amount of polishing or repolishing of each individual die, the lines in the 0 ranged from completely present to partially missing to entirely absent. Previous cataloguers have chosen to list as a separate entry those pieces that lack the lines."
The accompanying picture shows them through the 0 in "1950" semi-diagonally from about 10:00-4:00 for the ones with the lines.
