Does anyone know how easy it is to find a JJ Barre copper copy of the Daniel Morgan medal?

I was reading the John Adams' Comitia Americana book and the medals contained in the book are amazing. The unfortunate thing is that the medals seem to be incredibly expensive (the populations in the book are frequently showing a dozen or so of each medal in existance based on the inquries that the authors made).

I read about the Daniel Morgan medal last night, and it looks very, very attractive. In discussing the lost gold Daniel Morgan medal, the author indicates that excellent copy dies were made by JJ Barre and the copper strikings are very well executed. The author states, "Barre copies are relatively plentiful and make a wholly adequate substitute for the unobtainable originals."


Does anyone know how easy it is to locate one of these Barre copies? Also, any idea of what a price range might be?

Thanks. That's the medal, but it is not clear whether these are the copy dies or the originals. I need to look at the picture closer, though. Supposedly you can tell originals from copies by rust on the dies and a different letter "M".
