Suggestion for another registry type set

I would have added this in Braddick's post about sub-sets, but this suggestion isn't really a subset. So, I created my own post. My suggestion is for PCGS to create a new registry set, a type set of colonial coins.
I can see a couple of drawbacks: First, it's my understanding that colonial coin collectors, such as EAC or CCC members, often sneer at slabbed coins and disagree with PCGS's grading. So I don't expect this suggestion would be popular among them. Second, I also know that selecting which coins would be included would be difficult and also likely controversial.
But there are some advantages. First, to the extent that more people want PCGS slabbed colonial coins, it increases PCGS's market. Second, Dave Bowers has a long abiding interest in colonial coins and so he (as well as other experts) ought to be able to determine which coins should be included in the type set. Third, there would be some interesting sub-sets involved: Washington pieces, state coins, Machin Mills coins, etc. These sub-sets could be included as separate sets as well as part of the over-all set, as apparently will soon be the case for commemoratives. Finally, I, personally, think the completion of this set in high grades would be a major accomplishment. And, it would make for a fantastic collection to view! Plus if someone does complete an outstanding set, it might even convince a few of the "old-timers" that slabbed coins aren't all bad!
Does anyone have any comments?

Possibly a colonial copper (or silver & pewter) type set, but no (or minimal) varities.
You a seated dime collector???
I agree w/ you a seated dime type set would be pretty cool. So would the dime set.

Colonials are great to collect and look at. I buy slabbed Colonials to improve my chances of getting authentic and correctly attributed examples. I think some of the EAC objections could be overcome if size and weight data was measured before slabbing and added to the label of PCGS-graded Colonials. I don't think serious variety collectors will ever be enthusiastic about slabs, but I think type collecting of slabbed Colonials is a fabulous idea.
