Kennedy Half Question

How can you tell the difference between 1965 Kennedy and a 1965-SMS Kennedy? Assuming you did not take it out of the sets yourself.

I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom I provide, then question the manner in which I provide it. I prefer you said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon, and stand to post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to!

I would say the SMS has a more mirrored appearance the the UNC.........Rick
If don't look like UNC, it probrably isn't UNC.....U.S. Coast Guard. Chief Petty Officer (Retired) (1970-1990)

If the strike is early enough, the SMS will be prooflike and will be obviously different. As striking progesses, it becomes increasingly difficult to discern the difference until it becomes essentially impossible. Even professional graders frequently get these wrong.

  • For PCGS it is easy to tell, if it is a nice looking coin they default to SMS and if the coin looks like a dog then they grade it a business strike.image
  • Well its either break up a SMS set or trust my B&M seller as I bought my SMS Kennedy's from him.
