Stacks Kroisos Collection sale

Just received my latest phone book from Stacks and all I can say is WOW! imageimage

Hundreds of old-world gold coins! I may not be able to afford winning any of the coins but the sale catalogue will be a great book to look through time and again!

What a collection image ........ What a lot of $$$$$

Stack's has really outdone itself with this auction offering. What a great selection of mostly uncommon or rare world gold coins. This collection reminds me of the Eliasberg on steroids.

I was really looking forward to this auction hoping to add a piece or two to my collection ....... I'm having a very hard time finding something I can afford without taking a second mortgage image

For anyone who loves world gold and does not get Stack's auction catalogs this is one of those special auction catalogs that you have got to get .... if nothing else for reference to some wonderful world gold coins in fully color photos with great descriptions.

I gotta go .......image now where did I put those mortgage papersimage

  • Yeah, I agree...the quality of the collection is amazing. Funnily enough, I skipped over the Intro that explained what was in the catalog and when I began skimming the pages I thought to myself that these pieces (esp. the Roman and Greek stuff) were musuem quality.....and it turns out they were actually from musuems!!

Unfortunately, thus far (I'm only up to Belgium)...I can affrod exactly NONE of these coins...image

They do offer a few low income pieces along the wayimage
  • Many of these unslabbed coins look so good, who is to say, years from now when I try to sell 'em, that they are genuine or not?

  • Is it possible for someone (me) to obtain a copy of this catalog? I would like to have one for the referece/drooling factor and would not mind paying for it. If, it was not too expensive.

Nice coins! It would be fun to research the many provenances not provided in the catalog.

I don't understand that comment at all, unless it is meant to be ironic: it seems almost EVERY "provenance" I can think of is included in this auction!
