Just got my Nolan Ryan autographed coin in the mail. What's not to like about this thing? One of the greatest ballplayers ever. Interesting story in that the design of this coin came from the 1991 Fleer #302 Nolan Ryan Card which I think the mint isn't supposed to depict living people (could be wrong here). And it's silver.
I could give a hoot about the ICG / PCGS 68/69/70. Just doesn't matter to me. ICG says it's a 68 but I'll be darned if it looks any better or worse than any other 69 commen or eagle I have. The scratches in the photo are on the slab. I do see one pit in it. Who cares?
Also I just ordered the 91 Fleer card and the nice geeks on the card forum told me I could mail it to the Nolan Ryan Foundation and get it signed. I checked and it will set me back $35 but I'm pretty sure Mr. and Mrs Ryan are doing good works with the money collected from this so I'm going for it. I think it'll make a nice companion piece to this.

Looks like a nice collectible for a baseball/coin cuckoo like me.
