Lincoln Variety Experts - Extra Beard? . . . Help!!

came across this 2000 Lincoln cent - see pic - has what seems like extra hair (tenticles) hanging off the side of Lincoln's beard - below the ear - what could this be and has anyone else come across this anomaly? - whatever it is, it's very interesting!!image

That's interesting. Are they raised like they look in the pics? Certainly looks like it was touched up or something. Not only below the ear, but I see what looks like a few others located throughout the beard...

it takes someone sending one off to coneca for appraisal...on the trumpet it's a lil pet project...a rigid framed springer 650 bonny.myself was raised around mini coopers and morris's noting my first car was a 61 morris minor and always thought those woody's rocked and those early mini's could be shaved down to 950lbs with 350 horse's. i had even heard one was on a track against a cobra and the mini won as it didn't have to back off for corners...;-)
