Possible Morgan, Trade Dollar eBay listings - prices?

Hey everyone,

I have in my possession some coins that I'm thinking of possibly selling in the near future. Would these be decent starting prices to list them at?

1900-O/CC Morgan - MS65 (Numistrust) - $800.00
1901-O Morgan - MS66 (Numistrust) - $100.00
1921 Morgan - MS66 (Numistrust) - $60.00
1899-S Morgan - MS63 - $265.00
1875-S Trade - MS62 (Numistrust) - $500.00

As they aren't graded by PCGS, I chose starting prices that would be at least two grades lower than those listed by PCGS. Are these sell-able at the stated starting-prices?

  • Oh man. You best start by posting some pictures of these coins. Numistrust can put complete crap in their holders at extremely high grades.

    Agree. Pictures needed.
Besides the coins probably being a few grades lower, there is also the possibility that the coins are cleaned.
If that is the case, then value really drops.

Besides the fact that the coins are NOT accurately graded, and they may have problems, (especially in the case of the trade dollar) they may be FAKE.

  • Yeah, I realize this about the grading quality. I had some PCGS ones, but obviously they all sold before these! image I'll try to get some pictures up in a few minutes.
  • I could probably post some higher-resolution scans later if these aren't as good. If anyone who really knows their stuff would compare my listed prices and the scans shown (if possible), that would be a great help.

The Morgans all look pretty clean (not saying they are correctly graded, they just have nice clean cheeks and lack other distracting marks for their assigned grades) the Trade dollar could very well be MS but it is hard to tell from your pic. It could just as easily be a slightly rubbed AU, just not sure. Higher resoloution scans nad reverses would be nice.
edited to add, that 21 looks like it may very well be a "hot lips" variety, but I could be wrong.image and not sure what that would do as far as premium goes.

The Hot Lips is on the 1888-O, not 1921. The 1921 in the picture appears to be a normal coin.

  • So would the stated prices be sell-able, perhaps, on eBay, or would higher-resolution scans be required? Like I said, those prices are all at least "two steps" lower based on the PCGS guide. Would anyone here be interested in them?
  • Here are the reverse sides of the images...hopefully this will help with determining if these are fair prices?

Edit: It would help if you knew which was which. Here's the order:
    1900-O/CC
    1875-S Trade
    1901-O
    1921
    1899-S
  • I am no longer selling these on eBay and still have in my possession the following two:

    1901-O Morgan - MS66 (Numistrust)
    1921 Morgan - MS66 (Numistrust)

If anyone is interested in making any deals.
  • So I assume no one is interested in these last two?? image
