Need Photo Advice

As some of you know i have spent the last month and a half organizing my grandfathers collection so we can get ready to start selling it. I would like some advice on what i can do to get the best pictures.Cameras? Lights? Computer Programs? Etc..... We are going to send some coins in for grading but not all of them. Thanks for the help and i will have the list of all his coins up soon after i format it so it is a little easier to read.

The cheapest way out is a Point and shoot camera, a couple desk lamps, some sort of picture software (free: irfanview, gimp, picasa)

How much do you want to spend?

A scanner will do the trick if you aren't selling super high grade stuff. Under $200 and the learning curve is small.

between prolly 200 and 400

For that price range I would get the following.

new Nikon Cool pix. PM Russ for white balance instructions.
a cheap table top tripod
2 $10 desk lamps with flexible necks.

That should do the trick. Then afterword you have a decent point and shoot digital camera to boot.
