1909 S-VDB Referral

Had a random call today from a fellow that wants to buy an unc S-VDB lincoln. I don't do lincolns. I have a large want list for these things but I just can't bring myself to buy them! Heck I was born in 1955 and will not buy one of those double dies!

So I referred him to Bowers and Merena Auctions.

Where would you refer someone for one of those coins?

Any mid size or major show will undoubtedly have multiple S-VDB's to choose from, as noted previously. I also know a fellow who has bought several MS examples in NGC holders below GS Bid via Heritage auctions....then had trouble flipping them at Bid to dealers (and dealer wanna be's like me) afterward.

Heritage typically has 10-20 or more in a large signature auction. 17 are being offered at the FUN sale.

    JJT Teaparty presently offers 3.

Ebay is currently auctioning 54, many of which are genuine.

I sent this fellow the link to this thread. Hopefully he'll click on it and see the good tips that are contained here.

It's hidden for me, too. The only way I can see anything is clicking on the entire inventory for printout. Anyone else having that problem?

It's a browser issue, Firefox doesn't show their inventory. Ira would be a good one to contact also.

I would have simply responded, "you don't need no stinkin' Lincolns. You need what real men collect-- early gold, a few of which I just happen to have sitting right next to me for sale." image
