LED lighting for coin photo's?

Went out looking for a OTT lamp, and only found a LED desk lamp with about 20 tiny bulbs.
Is this worthy to add to an arsenal of coin photography lights?
Could anyone post a coin shot with LED?

I'll stick with my 15 year old halogen I guess.
Amazing photo. I really really like that shot. Greatly appreciate your posts on lighting as well. Thanks.

Never view my other linked pages. They aren't coin related.
Not getting anything worthy of even posting, and LED is harsher on the slab scratches.
seems it doesn`t matter what lighting you use, your photos are absolutely stunning.
Your LED lights pinpoint the light source... where as the light I purchased is for spreading it across a work area.
Who makes the LED's your using, if you don't mind sharing?
As that 1/2 Cent image is so vivid it looks like a raw coin!

<< <i>These are my LED lights on goosenecks. Great for getting the light in close.

What an awesome set-up
I did not think the LED's would work well because of the spectrum but the 1/2 cent proves that it depends on the coin and the photographer!

Where do you get those particular goosenecks with the multiple small bulb sockets? Searching online, the vast majority of gooseneck lamps I find have huge bulb casings and the only ones I find with many small bulb casings are huge artsy-fartsy things...

How do you find the volume of light that the two bulbs are capable of producing?

<< <i>Gah! And people here were complain about the cost of Otts compared to Reveal bulbs. Talk about sticker shock...

I would say that the light is comparable to an Ott light. It only has single LEDs. I don't use it for general coin lighting. Just super closeups.
