WHITMAN'S NEW "A GUIDE BOOK OF LINCOLN CENTS" BY Q. DAVID BOWERS

I received the above subject book in the mail today. (Saturday). As a Lincoln cent collector I must say this is probably the most extensive and best detailed book on Lincoln cents that I have ever seen, and I think I've seen them all since Sol Taylor wrote "The collectors' and investors guide to the Lincoln cent in 1982. That was a forerunner to his four editions of "The Standard Guide to the Lincoln Cent".
This new book appears to have so much material and pictures that it will take months (if not more) to absorb it all. I have just glanced thru the pages. I like the fact that ALL the dates from 1909 thru 2007 are covered in detail with most of the Major Varieties in both Circulation strike and Proof strike during the years identified and many pictured.
I probably sound like an advertising guy for Whitman, but seriously, If you collect Lincoln cents you MUST get this book. I'm sure many of you have already ordered, but if you haven't I'm sure you will eventually want it. Retail is $19.95. Anyone who wants to comment on the book when they have it in hand, please do so.

Does this one appear geared to the mass market? Is there any mention of the 100th anniversary of the Lincoln on the cover?
I plan to order it soon!

Roger,
I agree. Not only is there lots and lots of great information but it is the kind of information we can use in TODAY's coin market. Dave Bowers tells it like it is. As a point of reference, on page 126 in the introduction to the date by date analysis Dave talks about market prices. He distinguishes market prices for modern RAW Lincoln cents and market prices for modern CERTIFIED Lincoln cents. For the novice he clearly explains why a 2006 Lincoln MS67RD RAW cent is available for 25 cents and a 2006 Lincoln MS67 CERTIFIED cent is available for $40. Lots of other gem information there also, most of which I haven't seen yet.
