Although Gold Eagles are not my specialty, I'll take a shot at it:

    Obv: XF-45 to AU-50
    Rev: AU-55

    Net Grade: AU-50 to 53

EF to AU looks like the obverse has been rubbed but it could be the image. Plus the rim ding hurts the reverse. So I am coming up with something like AU-42.

    I agree with stuart AU50 or AU53
  • 45/50 Obv

    53/55 Rev

    PCGS grade AU50-53

Unusually nice rev luster (if original) for the grade.
  • The coin looks like it's been cleaned but I would guess that it's about an XF or so.

AU50 It looks like it would slab but no CAC sticker due to the scatch across the face .

  • I always guess the grade before I look at any of the other guesses just to test myself, I guessed AU 50. Would this coin sell for close to melt?

    That's a commercial AU55 under today's standards.

Unfortunately, I cannot place a sticker on that coin. image

I bought it raw for just over spot.....

(don't need no stinkin' sticker, though)..... image
