Topps Heritage Poll

Do you think prices of Topps Heritage cards perform well over the next decade, or do they go the same route as Topps Tiffany sets, which were limited to 5,000-10,000)?

It's so cold here, my tongue is now stuck to the poll
  • nice pole.
  • I think the first few years (2001-2003) of Heritage will always carry a premium, but as Topps has made the item a little more available and more people have become aware since 2005, I don't think the pricing will change that much down the road.

I love the Topps Heritage cards. If the cards look anything like those '59 designs posted in an earlier thread, they should be a hot collectible.

The only thing is I don't think I'll ever get my money out of them.

I think there will be a market for the sp's in PSA 9's and 10's, I could see these fetching some decent money.

I've been buying and selling (and trading!) Topps Heritage exclusively for almost 3 years now and i have seen little if any changes in the values. Certain rookies have fluctuated but Heritage has never had a big rookie crop. Of course with the new rookie card rules they at least have a chance. Remember that Laynce Nix (a 2002 short print) used to fetch an above-avg price ($10-15), but he's just a common sp now as he should be. There are variations in what is realized on ebay from time to time, but if you did the statistical analysis it would all be within the normal distribution.

The one thing that you will notice is that it is still dirt-cheap to buy unopened heritage product from 2006 and 2007. anything older is just not as available. Thats a clue as to how much more the presses were run in recent years. Luckily the demand has also increased over that time.
  • I bought my 2002 Nix "rookie" in a Buy it Now for $25 and thought I robbed the guy. They were selling for about $40 raw at the time. Now, I would trade it for a 1987 Topps wax pack or two.

I've collected Topps Heritage since they started, but there really is no after market to speak of once the flipping is done.

The SPs of the earlier sets have to be as scarce though as SPs from the 60s, and the cards year after year are great.

I'm a bit shocked it hasn't taken off more.
