Altered Date 1914-D Cent (Update)

Agree. Any reason I shouldn't notify ebay?

Mike

Received a response from the seller.

"I appreciate your observation, I further examined the coin and agree.
I have refunded the purchaser. Thank you very much for your help."

Good to see this.

  • Enlarged the image & the second 1 is weird (thicker than first 1). The D is too high.

Ugh, the D is in the wrong spot and the 1 looks all fishy. It ends in 18 minutes though...looks like someone's getting screwed.

Most altered date 14-D cents are 1944-D cents but on most of those the 1 is closer to the 4 than it should be. This one doesn't look right but is a bit different than most of them.

The pics are bad enough just to tell me I would never bid but look 22 bids already. The poor bidders! image

Used a magnifying glass on the sellers pic and can see remnants of the 'vdb' on the 'shoulder'..............Rick

I'm sure it's too late to notify ebay so I sent the seller an email.

It certainly looks like a later-date cent that was altered.

I agree, this looks to be from the 1940's or 50's.
