If its Norm Bolotin (sp?) I have. He first started his internet auctions on Boxlot Auctions so I picked up a ton of stuff really cheap. He's a nice guy and is easy to work with, because some of the stuff I bought was misrepresented so he just told me to keep it and issued a refund. True story
If you are referring to the Gallery of History in Las Vegas, then yes, I have had a lot of dealings with them. I've only sold to them though, not purchased from them as you are right, their pieces are very high. Their founder is Todd Axelrod and he is well known in the autograph field. He authored a couple of really nice books on autographs, and is a great guy to talk with and email with. His exuberance for the field is a lot of fun to be around. They used to have some locations at other places in the 80's as well such as the Galleria in Dallas, Texas. They are now a publicly traded company. Their older pieces were always absolutely incredibly framed, no expense was spared there. They made some stunning show pieces and had one of the nicest inventories of a dealer in the US. I would say 99% of their stuff is legit, but, just like any dealer, I have seen exceptions. The most notable one being an Abraham Lincoln signed CDV that one of my friends acquired from them that was later determined to be non-authentic and it was a VERY difficult process of return for that one. (I'll leave it at that, as I really do like Todd, and sometimes mistakes are made)
Personally, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from them, with the only exception being the high prices.
Thanks for your indepth answer. Somebody on another message board had one negative transactions returning a fake baseball autograph. He needed to get his credit card involved.to get a refund . They would not refund the round trip shipping charges. I do not want to base my total decision on one negative however it is a factor.
They are public company and the stock (HIST) has really dropped and they have negative earning and this is also a concern for me.
