Is anyone here planning on attending the New York International Coin Show in January?
Does anyone here typically attend this show. I hear that some foreign medals dealers make their only appearance in the US at this show. I also see that the MCA is holding a meeting on the Saturday of the show. Does anyone here typically attend that meeting? Here is the link with more information: NYC Show

The prime reason for my attendance is a speaking engagement. As it turns out, I agreed de parler a la Societe Americaine por l'etude de la Numismatique Francaise on Pierre L'Enfant and the Society of Cincinnati Eagles months and months ago, way before the LaFayette-Washington Eagle was rediscovered and widely publicized. So now what was arcane is suddenly timely!
The speech will be in English, the subject will be French and American, and lunch will be Dutch.
The program is Saturday at 2 PM. MCA is meeting at noon. See you there!

Whenever I am in Amsterdam, I subsist on croquettes and french fries if I decide to eat Dutch. Otherwise, I hit the Indian and Asian restaurants there, which are incredible.

When I'm in Amsterdam, oh, nevermind.

In addition to the foreign medal dealers, there are one or two US medal dealers there who don't seem to attend many other shows.
By the way, the medal dealers usually aren't in the main room - it's very crowded; I usually avoid it.
Also, don't forget to dress up a bit - no mustard-stained hawaiian shirts on this show's dealers or collectors!

C. E. Bullowa-most incredible woman in numismatics, got me hooked on currencey and I still buy from her when possible.
Fred Weinburgs daughter: In 15 mins she gave me a crash course on ancients and greek coinage, very friendly and extremely smart
QDB- was the first time I met him, hes just as awesome in person as he is in print
