When comparing the statistics of this pitcher when he was in his 20's vs. when he was in his 40's, does anyone think that Nolan Ryan could have had a little "help" prolonging his career at a high level?

I've always thought it was possible, but there's nothing really to go on. He could just be as amazing as he appeared to be.

Ryan just never had that "steroid look" about him with the bulked up looking body frame that steroids gives you. You see guys like Clemens, Dykstra, Bonds, McGwire and the others and it's obvious to me they were on steroids.

With Bonds, Dykstra & Mcgwire, one look at their early baseball cards/photos vs. a look at the end of their careers, and yes it is pretty obvious. Clemens, however, was a big boy back in the mid 80's. His added weight/bulk would seem to be more of a product of time.

Point taken and you're right about Clemens being a big boy, but it seems that Clemens even became a "bigger boy" - I understand what you mean about people in their 40's naturally getting bigger with weight gain, but not the way Clemens was shaped...the way I see it anyway. Of course Clemens is strongly denying the accusations.

Most pitchers do not take roids or HGH to bulk up, they do it to heal faster............retire heal unretire pee in bottle collect 16 mil rinse and repeat.
