Ebay joke - solid XF - coin is half missing!!

This may take the cake for most overgraded coin on Ebay (not including the ms67 jokes).

Seller says this is a "solid XF"

  • Actually, I'd like for eagle eye to 'pipe in' on this one...looks like a mint error of some sort...
    Re: Slabbed coins - There are some coins that LIVE within clear plastic and wear their labels with pride... while there are others that HIDE behind scratched plastic and are simply dragged along by a label. Then there are those coins that simply hang out, naked and free image

    There's actually chance it could actually be an XF if...
    1. It were original (looks cleaned)

    However, the coin does have a horrible strike as with many FEs (though I must admit, this one's a little bit weaker than most)
  • struck thru grease filled die.

    The coin actually does have VF/XF details, but has been cleaned.

    I have a PCGS XF40 with almost no details on the letters whatsoever...
