Sellers like this must keep ebay in business....

Looking for a nice Columbian half? item # 300181985185

Perhaps an uncirculated large cent? item # 300182035260

Someone needs to find this guy a price guide and maybe a grading book, ebay must like the fees they make just off the listing.

Comments

  • Well he did say it was "Circulated" and "This coin is in beautiful shape".
It sounds pretty clear to me.
I don't know about the price though, that seems a little way too optimistic.

I think that was the issue. He's too optimistic at what he'll get and at the end of the acution all he'll have is two coins still in his possession and some ebay fees.

I can't see the auction but they make much more on final value fees than listing fees.

Sellers like that crack me up. He copy/pasted reams of info he found somewhere to try and hoodwink bidders in to thinking he knows what he's doing, and then he destroys the illusion by pricing the coin at more than 10X what it's worth. image

Well, though it's probably a slider and might have its color tweaked, I kinda like that large cent...

I totally missed the $300 pricetag on the Columbian. That's hilarious.

But not the most hilarious I've seen. He only went for a three-figure pricetag. Most would have shot for at least 10 grand. image

Remember, to some people round is a wonderful shape, and it is round!

  • Hey, that Columbian Half is over 114 years old! Well worth the asking priceimage

On the other hand, the Large Cent could be pretty nice. Cant realy tell from the crapy photo, though. I would not be surprosed at all to see someone pay that price or more.

I'm with LordM on the large cent...a bit odd of a color but does not look like too bad of a coin....

I don't know, looks like a coin that was polished and is starting to retone and possibly stored in bad environment- looks like green stuff at around 9 -10 o'clock on obverse. It has nice detail, but not a coin I would touch for over $40 or $50, and I would have to think on that- no way over $150.
