2007 Bullion American Eagles Done For The Year - Historically Record Low Sales Figures

Numismaster is reporting:
<< <i>The Mint has run out of 2007 gold, silver and platinum American Eagles for its distribution network so the November numbers are it for the year. >>
Going by the US Mint 2007 Sales Figures and previous year bullion final mintage figures. The final figures for the AGE APE bullion are the lowest ever, by around half the mintage figures of any previous year.

(Just think of city streets clogged with a hundred thousand horses each generating 15 lbs of manure every day...)
I think that's why the Red Book is a few years behind in their mintage figures because like the mint reps they can never be fully trusted.
Thanks

Who wants me to pick them up for you (assuming a "big spender" didn't just grab them)?? LOL

Mintage sales from Jan 07 - Nov 07 don't represent the total sales for 2007 - factor in the December 2006 figures and you are in the ballpark.
Yes, that's correct. But for the current year, they are showing sales figures, not mintage figures. A significant amount of 2007 dated pieces were included in the December 2006 sales tally.

I don't know how he can say that since it is December 13th and I just ordered 10 1/4 ounce Proofs with no problem.

Just send me a PM on MS69's and I can share what I know on the specific coins you are seeking.

That means using the same ratio, the the AGE Proof $10 Coins scheduled at 16,000 Coins should sell out at just over 10, 200 Coins.
The sales for the the AGE Proof $10 Coin are at 9,879, so only about 400+/- left?

CoinBoy, we're talking about the Unc bullion issues here, not the proofs or "W"s. An interesting story indeed! The 1/10 oz number, for instance, now stands at 3,000. If that holds, it will seriously test the question of whether anyone is collecting these or not.
However, I would look at the $25 AGE Proof, too.
That early sell out on a low number below allocated Mintage is significant news and not stated by NN.
Not really. This happens every year. You have to add part of the sales figures from December of 2006 to the 2007 numbers if you want to be close to the final figure.
There were 18,010 $25 Platinum coins made in 2004 although there were only 18,000 sold.
There were 12,013 $25 Platinum coins made in 2005 although there were only 18,000 sold.
There were 12,001 $25 Platinum coins made in 2006 although there were only 7,800 sold.
There were (unknown) $25 Platinum coins made in 2007 although there were only 5,400 sold.
When the month is over, there will numbers in the December 2007 column. Those numbers will account mostly for 2008 dated bullion. The 2007 may in fact end up being very low in the end; but, the rational being used to predict that is a little off. This happens every year.

Whelp, with Unc Plats still for sale, his statement is just not true.
Coinboy, the coins the article is talking about are the bullion issues. Not the proofs and not the uncs you can order from the Mint. These are the regular bullion coins.
