Dilemma!! Hold Em!!! or Grade Em!!!

Many Vammers, including myself, that prefer PCGS,are holding some nice Vams in the hope that PCGS will add to their list of Vam Varieties.Dilemma!!! Wait or send them to ANACS for variety attributions? What do you think?Maybe if enough of us respond,we can get at least a few more of the popular Vams on the list.image

Don't spend money on the same thing, twice. Hold !
  • I'm holding some Vams until PCGS starts grading and slabing problem coins, I have a number of other coins but with about a 30% BB rate for altered surfaces, questionable color. I am holding off on all my submissions. I will submit more when all coins submitted are slabbed. I figure my coins are not goindg anywher soon so I will wait.

I am in the same dilemma, but I recently I decided to send about 15 coins to ANACS when the had their $10 special. I was glad I did, because almost half of the coins came back with problems. Since I am having trouble identifying problems I am thinking that the best way for me to go is to send them to ANACS when they have their $10 special and send the ones that don't have problems to PCGS if and when PCGS adds to their list of VAM Varieities. If you are able to easily identify problem coins, I don't know if sending the coins to ANACS first would be the way to go.

Hold 'em. PCGS will sooner add to their variety designations than holder problem coins.

It seems this thread spawned another thread,Problem Coins being graded by PCGS.I would not like to see them do it for the same reasons mentioned in the other thread, but discussion is great and that's what makes the Forum interesting. On the other hand by the look of the responses, graded problem coins are a real issue to a lot of collectors.PCGS has it's work cut out for them.Looks like us Vammers will have to wait for some new additions to the PCGS Variety list.image
